The LiteSlate Synthetic Slate Tile is a high-performance, modern alternative to traditional natural slate, designed to deliver the same authentic appearance with significantly improved durability and ease of installation. Featuring riven edges, realistic surface texture, and traditional slate colouring, LiteSlate provides a true slate look without the weaknesses associated with natural stone.
Unlike natural slate, LiteSlate will not crack, chip, break, or delaminate thanks to its advanced manufacturing process and reinforced design. Each tile includes visible fixing points, pre-installed spacers, and clear lapping guidance, allowing for fast, accurate installation. Tiles can be cut easily using a fine-tooth saw or sharp blade, removing the need for specialist slate cutting tools.
Once installed, LiteSlate synthetic slate tiles are virtually maintenance free and offer a life expectancy of up to 40 years. With a minimum pitch of just 14 degrees, LiteSlate is ideal for low pitch roofing projects where traditional slate would not be suitable. Weighing just 700g per tile (15.4kg per m²), LiteSlate is over 60 percent lighter than natural slate, making it perfect for weight-sensitive applications such as conservatory roofs.
